Many of us are used to this question when it comes to Grocery shopping. Some of us (including
me) have gotten so used to plastic bags that the question does not even come up anymore. Here are some present day considerations on the subject…
- Seattle, WA is voting in August on a 20 cent tax (?) on customers that dont bring their own bags
- BYOB – The new expansion for this is Bring Your Own Bag. There is a ‘coolness’ factor to this now.
- Many people claim that they have their own bags in the car, but 80% of the time they forget to take it into the store with them
- There is the argument that plastic bags are 2% of the problem, the bigger problem is how the stuff we buy are packaged and how we need to minimize plastic content in that.
- Cant deny the environmental damage caused by plastic bags blowing around and besides being an eyesore, being consumed by animals
- But hey, wait a minute. How else are we going to dispose of dog poop, and line the garbage bin in the bathroom?
- If Grocery stores stop using Plastic bags, wont we simply buy bags for Trash cans anyway?
